Jardín Micológico La Trufa
Located in the vicinity of the village of Zagrilla (Priego de Córdoba), in the heart of Las Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park, La Trufa Mycological Garden demonstrates an exceptional depiction of the mushrooms in the region of Andalusia, which is one of the European regions with the greatest richness and diversity in this regard. It is also an exhibition of some species that are so rare and unique they require a high level of protection.
The privileged geographical location of Andalusia and its climate favour a great number of ecosystems and, consequently, a rich mycological heritage, including 3,500 species of wild mushroom, many of which are exclusive to Andalusia and some are even endangered.
The distribution of mushrooms in the garden is conditioned by different atmospheres and ecosystems as follows: riverbank forests, oak groves, meadows or pastures, fir forests, scrubland and thickets, pine forests, chestnut groves, cork trees, microenvironments and substrates.
