Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Carmen
This building dates from the transitional period between the Baroque and the neoclassical, and has a single nave with an interposed transept. The roof has a three-sectioned barrel vault, and over the transept is a scalloped dome set on pedentives, inset with four window openings. Its decoration features a combination of Neoclassical and Baroque elements.
The doorway was created by Remigio del Mármol, and is fully neoclassical. It comprises two sections, the first with Doric and the second with Corinthian columns, framing a relief of the Virgen del Carmen. This church has been declared a National Monument.
