Iglesia de San Francisco
The church dates from the late Gothic or Mudéjar period, and was remodelled in the 18th century in the Baroque style. Only the two hall-church floor plans remain from the original temple. The alterations began in 1712, and involved endowing the building with the same features as the church of La Asunción: groin vaults, scalloped domes, and a profusion of Baroque plasterwork decoration.
A particular highlight is the main altarpiece which consists of a predella, the first section which houses the niches for the Franciscan saints, and the chapel in the centre containing the image of the Inmaculada.
The chapel of Jesus the Nazarene is one Priego's most highly-prized Baroque art treasures. It has a hexagonal floorplan and on its elevation it has large columns, a balcony, and windows above which cast light on the interior.
