Hospital - Iglesia de San Juan de Dios

The hospital and church of San Juan de Dios was founded in the village of Priego de Córdoba in the 17th century.

It is located in the historic centre of the town, and its appearance today is the result of the various reforms it has undergone throughout its existence. The 18th century saw modifications to the windows and arches, and the addition of the façade -unfinished- attributed to Juan de Dios Santaella.

Its outstanding main altarpiece was created in 1768 by Francisco José Guerrero, and is presided by the Virgen de las Mercedes. Its overall style is Rococo.
