Casa Olea

Casa Olea is a beautiful luxury country guesthouse situated in the heart of Sierra Subbética near Priego de Córdoba, in Central Andalusia. It is a small, charming hotel which can be rented privately. It has six rooms with private bathrooms. Ideal for families or groups of friends wanting a peaceful and relaxing country break, close to quaint towns and only one hour from Granada and Cordoba. This idyllic natural setting has a beautiful pool and balconies with a view of the mountains and Salado River. 

 * The building - We fully renovated an old, abandoned country house, maintaining the traditional Andalusian architecture, and we have added touches of luxury all around the house, like underfloor heating, air conditioning, comfortable super-king sized beds (1.80 x 2m), high quality bathrooms and large windows to make the most of the amazing views and the beautiful Andalusian light.   

 * Décor - The décor is "rustic-chic" with terracotta floors and original cobbled paving, restored wooden beams and wrought iron grilles. The mixture of natural textures and materials creates a warm interior. It is a calm style, fresh and full of charm. The typical whitewashed walls contrast with colourful details like original textiles and paintings from South America.   

* Atmosphere - The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, where you can get back nature, with a balance between modern touches and the typical country flavour, as well as the main highlight: the beautiful view out of each window. The outdoor pool and terraces also afford stunning views. 

* Rooms - The six rooms have air conditioning in summer and underfloor heating in winter, and large windows with stunning views and lots of light. All of the rooms have super-king sized beds (1.80 m x 2 m), but they can be split up into two single beds if a twin room is required. The bedding is top quality and we have summer and winter duvets. All the rooms come with their own bathroom with a high-end shower, organic toiletries (shower gel and shampoo) and a window with a good view. Three of the bedrooms have space for an extra bed, bringing the maximum number of people up to 15.  

* Interior - The dining room with a bar is spacious and has many windows, great views and tables that can be joined together to eat as a group. The bar has stools, two fridges to keep drinks, a sink and a dishwasher. There are all kinds of cups and glasses, a large toaster, a kettle and a Nespresso coffee machine next to the bar too. The living room has a fireplace (with free wood) in winter, and a sofa and several armchairs. There is cable TV (Movistar +) with basic cable channels included, as well as a DVD player. The kitchen is down the stairs next to the bar, in the basement. It is a very large, industrial kitchen (like a restaurant's kitchen), ideal for group catering, with a lot of room and high quality utensils. There is another dishwasher on this floor, next to a large sink and a washing machine too.  

* Exterior - The stunning terrace with the pool is situated between the house and the woods, and affords wonderful views. The only sound you can hear all day is the birds singing. There are lots of sun loungers and umbrellas and also a shady pergola with a hammock, a sofa and several comfortable armchairs. The main entrance has a beautiful patio with a table and chairs, next to a bench, a fountain and lots of flowers. It is a lovely place to sit for a morning coffee or to enjoy a drink in the evening, in the shade of the old walnut tree. The hotel also has a terrace with tables and chairs (with room for up to 15 people), where you can sit out and enjoy the sunset and view of the valley and the mountains. Dining under the stars, with the murmur of the river in the background, the frogs croaking and the nightingales singing is a magical experience! 

* Activities - From this idyllic natural setting there are hiking and biking routes, dark skies for stargazing, and great views of the olive groves, mountains and Salado River from the beautiful pool and terraces. Our valley is also a wonderful place for birdwatching and wildlife photography.  

* Service - You can rent the house without service, or with food service and cleaning". It is a great option if the group wants a break – no need to cook or tidy up – and we can offer you food (breakfast and homemade meals with local and organic ingredients), and daily cleaning too. Just let us know before booking.   

* Eco accommodation - Casa Olea is an eco house, with six solar panels and a biomass boiler (olive pellets from the local olive-oil mill) for hot water and heating. The entire renovation project was carried out by local craftspeople, using traditional materials, with many handcrafted details. We provide several recycling bins in the house, so that you can recycle 100% of all plastic, cardboard and glass waste. Every year we organise litter picking in the area.
