Pinos Genil
On the road leading from Sierra Nevada to Granada, and at 10 km from the city, lies Pinos-Genil, a beautiful village located between the stream of Aguas Blancas and the river Genil. It enjoys not only the magnificent scenery in the nearby Natural Park of Sierra Nevada, but also the proximity to the city of the Alhambra.
History
In the 17th century, Enríquez Jorquera descrbed Pinos-Genil as a hunting place with excellent winter fruits and silk production.The history of this village runs in parallel to nearby Granada. Presently, the village utilizes the industrial, commercial and service sectors of the capital, Granada.
