Ruta del Mulhacén
Ruta del Mulhacén Restaurant, in Pampaneira, serves traditional Alpujarra cuisine to recreate the authentic flavours of yesteryear, as well as dishes prepared using local organic, seasonal produce in a superb example of the culinary arts of La Alpujarra region. Its menu reflects a family tradition passed down by grandma Marina to her daughter Angelina Martín, who now runs the restaurant: ingredients and methods passed down from generation to generation, deeply rooted in the region, adapted to the environment and respectful of Mother Nature.
They offer well-known dishes, such as country-style fried breadcrumbs, Alpujarra-style kid, marinated pork loin, gachas pimentonas (a kind of porridge), plato alpujarreño (local mixed grill), stewed fennel, etc. Ruta del Mulhacén also serves char-grilled meat and delicious salads. Be sure to try their vegetarian dishes and homemade desserts.
