Church of La Asunción
The Church of La Asunción was built recently, in 1968. The project was carried out by Catalan architect Don Ramón Montserrat Ballesté.
The Church of La Asunción has a capacity of 2,000 - 3,000 people. It consists of a central nave for worship, a choir, which was made with latticework over the High Altar, circulation space for services and a space for spiritual reflection.
Outside we find a beautiful tower that adds strength and splendour to the building. With simple décor, several features stand out like the image of the Assumption of Mary above the altar, the artistic stained glass windows which symbolise light, (they are darker towards the entrance and become lighter as you move towards the altar and “The Resurrection”), and striking paintings, like the frescoes, which we find near the baptismal font.
