La Erilla Oil Mill Interpretation Centre
A place not to be missed when doing olive-oil tourism in the province of Granada, located in the heart of the municipality of Nigüelas, in the Lecrín Valley, 25 minutes from Granada city centre and the Costa Tropical, in Sierra Nevada National Park. La Erilla Oil Mill Interpretation Centre has been turned into a museum with the aim of telling visitors about the origin and operation of a 15th century oil mill and its historical relationship with the culture of olive oil, where olive oil tastings are carried out in a unique setting.
La Erilla offers various routes where you can discover the culture of olive oil by visiting a medieval Nasrid olive grove, where centuries-old olive trees grow, ending in the oldest oil mill in Spain. La Erilla Oil Mill is a charming place, where you can see two grinding systems that are over five centuries old: one, the horse mill from the Iberian-Roman era; and the other, the hydraulic mill from medieval times that is preserved in a very respectful way, with all the original elements, where, at the end of the tour, visitors can taste extra virgin olive oil in a unique setting.
Visiting La Erilla Oil Mill is like going back in time.
