Night time in Sierra Nevada, star gazing and night skiing!
When night falls in Sierra Nevada, a series of activities begin which we want to show you in this article, pay close attention!
In the vast majority of ski resorts, once the sun has set and night arrives the activity ends, but in Sierra Nevada the arrival of the night marks the start of other types of activities where the resort offers guests the chance to go night skiing down the 3.3 kilometres of the famous Rio slope, starting at the Borreguiles resort to Pradollano, which is illuminated by 34 spotlights from 7pm to 10pm, weather conditions permitting.
The Sierra Nevada Resort has been a pioneer in night skiing since 1993 and since then, everyone who goes up to Borreguiles from 7pm onwards is received with a free warm cup of soup...
And a huge bonfire to warm themselves up before a magical descent under the stars with the lights of Pradollano and the capital of Granada in the distance. Great.
Meanwhile, Cetursa, in collaboration with the Astroturista company, has launched a stargazing workshop taking advantage of the wonderful clarity of the skies of Sierra Nevada.
It's not every day that you can permit yourself the luxury of having the company of a stargazing expert at more than 2600 meters of altitude, is it? So now you know, whether you are skier or not, the night in Sierra Nevada not only offers night slopes for skiing but also the chance to see the wonders of the universe with stargazing, where you can see planets from the solar system, to a number of deep sky objects, such as nebulas, regions of star formations, double stars and galaxies, apart from our own, as well as many things that in justone minute looking through a telescope, can hook you on astronomy and nature.
