With three flights a week, this new route enables travellers to enjoy both the wonders of the Costa del Sol and the excitement to be found in New York. This new route represents a significant boost for tourism in Andalusia and Málaga, increasing the offer of long-distance destinations and taking advantage of the attraction of the natural surroundings and culture to be found in the region.

The Costa del Sol has become one of the favourite destinations for American tourists in Europe because of attractions including the large number of sunny days per year, magnificent beaches, delicious gastronomy and numerous options for leisure and culture in cities like Málaga and Marbella, which attract so many visitors.

Travellers from New York will also be able to discover historical and artistic treasure in cities like Córdoba, Granada and Seville and enjoy World Heritage Sites like the Alhambra, the Córdoba Mosque and the Reales Alcázares. 

The new route is operated by United Airlines flying Boeing 757-200 aircraft which have 169 seats. During the summer season there will be approximately 52 round-trip flights offering a total of about 17,000 seats in both directions.

The region's tourism authorities enthusiastically welcome this air connection, as it will enable us to attract key customers and provide new business opportunities with the United States.

The US market is of special interest to Andalusia, and hotel establishments in the region have experienced a notable increase in the number of travellers from the United States. 

In 2022, 498,342 US travellers were registered, an increase of 234% compared to the previous year. Overnight stays totalled 1.12 million, an increase of 196%.
