Moraleda de Zafayona
Southwest and 30 km away from the capital of Granada, lies Moraleda de Zafayona, which shares the characteristics of the locations in the Poniente Granadino (west side of Granada). It is becoming a tourist attraction due to the uniqueness of the AREA (to the south, the incomparable north face of Sierra Tejeda), as well as of the villages close to the city of the Alhambra.
History
Moraleda de Zafayona, associated to the word "silk", has been historically linked and a part of Loja for a long time.Located between the AREAs of La Vega and the old Temple, it shares its history with Alhama and Loja. The municipality, in terms of historical events, like all villages in the Poniente Granadino (west side of Granada) has witnessed the Roman Empire, the long Muslim rule, the christianisation process after the wars of Granada, and the presence of Napoleonic troops during the war of independence in the 19th century.
