Montillana
In the final south strands of Sierra Montillana, on the limits of the province of Granada with Jaén, lies this village, at 51 km north of the capital, bordering the west edge of Hoya de Guadix.
History
In the Middle Ages it was a borderline that suffered constant Christian incursions, hostility and robbery on the hands of the Castilian horsemen stationed in Cazorla who would attack the Muslim AREA of Guadix. It was conquered by the Catholic Monarchs as a preamble to the taking of Granada.- Max 5
