The Parish of San Francisco Solano is a Historic Artistic building, built in the 17th century, popularly known as the Church of the Saint, it is a place of worship of the two Patrons of Montilla, San Francisco Solano and Our Lady the Virgin of the Aurora. The Saint was born in Montilla on March 10, 1549, in the house on which the church was built. He was appointed patron of Montilla in 1647, by the Marquises of Priego, he was canonized in 1726 by Benedict XIII.
Regarding the structure, it presents a facade with an original scheme framed in a ‘U’ atrium, with semicircular arches resting on Tuscan columns. There is a niche where the headline image rests. The plant is of Latin cross, with central ship, barrel vault and lateral chapels.
