Lagar la Primilla

Next to Cerro Macho hill, an iconic place and the highest spot in the Sierra de Montilla mountains, Lagar La Primilla is a family-run company that has been making wine for more than half a century.

La Primilla has adapted the winery, machinery and structure to modern requirements but has maintained the essence and authenticity of its early years. This knowhow that has been passed down from generation to generation, giving the wines personality and legitimacy.

This ancient wine press on the Montilla-Moriles Wine Route is today highly technical and has beautiful architecture, like the central courtyard bursting with beautiful colourful flowers. Visitors can taste wine that has come straight from an earthenware jar and discover the vineyard.
