Lagar Cañada Navarro
Within the framework of the Ruta del Vino Montilla-Moriles and located in the Sierra de Montilla, which is an area of superior D.O.P quality., is the Lagar Cañada Navarro, an historic 18th century farmhouse with excellent wines.
The estate produces some 20 hectares of different varieties of white grape, mainly Pedro Ximénez but also including Chardonnay, Verdejo and Muscatel à Petits Grains. The group of buildings is constructed around a central courtyard with various spaces: the winery or winepress where unfermented grape juice is obtained; the clay jar cellar, for the fermentation of the grape juice via a spray system; and the house for family use.
The wines of Lagar Cañada Navarro have common characteristics such as freshness and fermentation and fruity aromas, although it also has own character based on the grape used. Visitors will have the chance to sample its wines by a clay jar.
Visits: Monday to Saturday from 11 am. to 14 pm. Sunday, make an appointment.
