The convent of Santa Clara is one of the most emblematic places with the greatest history of the town, where art, history and gastronomic tradition come together. In 1512 its construction began in the immediate vicinity of the family palace of Pedro Fernández de Córdoba, Marquis de Priego, as a Franciscan convent. It was not until 1525 when his daughter, Catalina Fernández de Córdoba, became the current convent of Santa Clara, turning to the use she still maintains today, a convent of the Franciscan Poor Clares and to whom we owe the foundation of the feminine order.

This fantastic convent is declared a National Historic Monument and inside houses important works of art. In addition, it has a hostel, a
place to stay surrounded by peace and tranquility.

Visits inside the convent by appointment.

Passes at 11:00h and 12:00h.
