Casa Museo del Inca Garcilaso de la Vega
Located in the district of Montilla, the House-Museum of the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega was the place where this famous mestizo lived between 1561 and 1591 (30 years), and where he wrote part of his work.
The house has several rooms: patios, library, office, cellar.
Its known history dates back to 1557, when Captain Alonso de Vargas purchased it to be his home. After the Inca Garcilaso, it was acquired by the Conde de La Cortina who donated it to the town of Montilla. The building is noble but rather austere, with cool patios and picturesque rooms and it was restored in 1992.
