Hundidero Cave has been declared of Cultural Interest because of its Copper Age cave paintings. It lies at the bottom of a 50-metre-high gorge through which the Gaudares River flows.
The cave is the northern entrance to a series of potholes called the Hundidero-Gato System, although all of the potholes in the area tend to be known by the name of the most famous mouth, which is the northern one, Gato.
Its amazing gallery system is home to one of the largest sedentary colonies of cave bats.
