Ferrocarril turístico minero

The Mining Tourist Railway is one of the most popular attractions at Riotinto Mining Park. A few kilometres from the town, heading towards Nerva, we will find the station of this historic train that takes us through an exceptional landscape next to the unique Tinto River. Along the way we will be able to discover how the landscape has been transformed by mining, an activity that goes back centuries in the history of this area. We will be able to see the abandoned mining villages and also the great railway heritage of this old company, which became the second largest in Spain after Renfe. At the end of the tour there is a stop next to the Tinto River, where the scenery is simply spectacular thanks to the river's deep reddish hue, which is due to the minerals in the water.
