Old England House

Old England House is sure to surprise you. It is located in the iconic Bellavista neighbourhood, built in 1882 by the British company that owned the centuries-old Riotinto mines. It was used to provide accommodation for British staff exclusively, creating an authentic British colony.

This house was one of the first to be built, as a home for the deputy director of the mines until the late 1920s. The house offers guests a luxurious stay in an authentic Victorian building with the modern comforts. You can discover the 19th century neighbourhood of Bellavista, with its 19th century English club, the first tennis courts in Spain and the place where football was played for the first time. A place not to be missed is Riotinto Mining Park, with a huge mining heritage; and the River Tinto, which is even studied by the NASA.

Each room in Old England House boasts original décor evoking colonial India, 19th century Paris, the Italian operas and the pioneers of aviation, respectively. The house has a complete spa area, to round off the stay and make it extra special.
