The fair is already in the air in La Cala The seafaring heart of Mijas is getting ready for the festivities which will take place from 26 to 30 July, and with a music programme that includes artists of the stature of Celtas Cortos, Antonio Carmona, José Ortega ‘Manzanita’ and Andy y Lucas.
Performances by Señor Mirinda and the iconic band Celtas Cortos are programmed for Friday 28 July, with the Flamenco band Manzanita y Antonio Carmona on Saturday 29 July followed by Calle Nueva and the renowned duo from Cádiz, Andy y Lucas on Sunday 30 July.
All the concerts will be held in the Caseta Municipal with free admission until the venue is full.
Lighting Up and Children's Day. The official start of the La Cala Fair will be on Wednesday 26 July with the traditional lighting up of the artistic illuminations at 10pm, although the fun really begins a few hours before, at 7.30pm, with the parade of "gigantes y cabezudos" (giants and big heads), through the streets of La Cala. A magical afternoon for the children that will continue in the fairground with Children's Day, where there are attractions at a reasonable reduced price. Torreón, witness to the fair during the day and during the night, as well as the following day, because the fun does not stop either when sun rises. Once again, the Torreón will be an extraordinary witness during the three days of day fair, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Rompeolas, A compás, Malabar and Marea will be there to entertain and there will be a free paella for everyone there on opening day on Friday 28 July.
