Santa María Golf & Country Club is considered one of the most exquisite and emblematic courses in Marbella. It boasts a spectacular location, mostly devoid of buildings and with an 18-hole course immersed in a lush pine forest and cork oak forest. The first 9 holes were designed by Mr. Antonio García Garrido and the course soon became one one of the favorites of a large number of golf players who decided to become members. The second 9 holes, inaugurated in November 1996, were designed by the club's technical team. A recognized track record and reputation among the best golf courses in the area, and the good evaluation of players of any level, make our club a must-visit on the Costa del Sol.
The course offers players a challenging course on a environment with views of the Mediterranean Sea and mountains covered by holm oaks and oaks. Also noteworthy is the clubhouse building, with marked Andalusian architecture, an impressive 19th century farmhouse, surrounded by extensive gardens. Located in the incomparable beauty of the Andalusian mountain range, in its design Santa María Golf meanders through a valley following its contours and surrounded by natural vegetation composed of pines, oaks, cork oaks, wild olive trees and a small stream that runs through much of the course.
The first round is a more demanding course with three par5 holes, while the second round, with three par3 holes, is more permissive and has more recovery holes. There are four lakes strategically placed on the course, which come into play on holes 1, 3, 8, 9 and 11.
