Wine Tourism at Nilva Winery
Manilva is a small coastal town in Málaga province, at the heart of the Costa del Sol. Its old Muscat of Alexandria vineyards on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea are still functioning but are in danger of disappearing as the urban sprawl advances and they become less and less financially viable.
Our project, based on the production of Nilva wines and the promotion of wine tourism, is driven by a desire to help save these ancient vineyards and enable local growers to make a decent living . On our guided tours you'll be able to explore the CIVIMA ( Manilva Vineyards Interpretation Centre) and discover the local wine producing traditions through the exhibits in the three rooms (grape growing, harvesting the grapes and wine making) . At our small winery (garage wine), we'll show you how we make the Nilva wines and then we'll take you to the organically certified Peñoncillo vineyard. There, we'll taste three wines and tapas (ham, cheese) while we enjoy the evening sea breeze and stunning views of the Mediterranean and the coast of Africa. A unique experience in a unique environment.
