Alea
Alea is a gastronomic reference in Málaga. Located in a historic area of unique beauty, on the emblematic Calle Larios.
Enclosed by the ancient walls of the walled enclosure of Muslim Málaga lies Alea. Used as a mill in the 18th century, it housed several flour mills for making bread. Today the traces of these tasks are still present. At the end of the 19th century, the place was transformed into a noodle factory, the top floor used as a dryer and storeroom, and the ground floor as a shop.
In the renovation work carried out in 2009 by the prestigious architect José Ramón Fauras, details of the 18th century structure were preserved (wood beams, original walls, marble columns, large windows) while implementing touches of colour and avant-garde details, using organic materials and state-of-the-art technology.
Alea proposes a gastronomy that is respectful as regards its prime ingredients, generous dishes of top quality, authentic, delicious, based on traditional Andalusian cuisine, offering a sense of freshness by creating new and surprising harmonies. Alea continuously changes its recipes, creating and investigating new flavours inspired by fresh, seasonal produce.
