Bee Garden Malaga is a multidisciplinary environmental education centre located in the city of Malaga. Our core themes include Beekeeping, where we highlight the crucial role of bees and other pollinators in the environment, agriculture, and other environmental sectors such as aquaculture and aquaponics. We also promote sustainable food, environmental education, ecotourism, circular economy, urban gardens, organic shops and markets, artisanal foods and more.
We got our start as a company, Aula Apícola y Medioambiental Bee Garden, Malaga, after a long time training in various environmental areas and after visiting numerous museums, both national and international, including the Natural History Museum in London, where the Bee Tree educational exhibit stands out.
Bee Tree consists of a glass hive inside a tree trunk. It served as the inspiration for our observation hive, which we use to introduce bees to children, schools, associations, companies, organisations, families, and anyone interested in environmental conservation—whether they come to us or we visit them.
Specifically, we are located in the city of Malaga, in Cortijo La Píndola, a creative and cultural business centre of Promálaga, an entity belonging to the Malaga City Council. It is a restored estate with the characteristics of early 20th-century rural Malaga farmhouses. It is surrounded by many green areas and has a car park exclusively for visitors.
The building is located on a 10,600-square-metre plot on Avenida María Victoria Atencia, s/n. Originally a farmhouse designed as a summer residence for an affluent family, its architectural features have earned it protection as part of the city's heritage.
In this new location, which is already home to other cultural organisations, you can explore the world of bees without leaving the city. It is easily accessible by public transport (bus or metro) and offers convenient access by car. You will have no problems parking thanks to the centre's large car park. Bee Garden already has a honey flora garden on a private plot located next to the entrance of the Sierras de las Nieves Natural Park in Yunquera (Malaga), and is also a member of the Network of Beekeeping Museums of Spain.
