Ecomuseo Astilleros Nereo
Located in Málaga, the Nereo Shipyard Ecomuseum is a Historic Shipyard where boats are built and repaired in the traditional manner, and it is simultaneously a Living Museum exhibiting the values of Waterfront Carpentry, the Phoenician legacy and the seafaring traditions of Málaga.
The Nereo Shipyard Ecomuseum is undertaking two historical projects: the reconstruction of the brig, Galveztown and the Phoenician wreck, Mazarrón II. The Ecomuseum provides unique experiences by means of guided tours, activities and workshops.
The guided tours are generally in Spanish and English, and can be in German only by prior appointment. There are recreational-cultural workshops for all ages and the chance for a cruise on a traditional boat (advance bookings only).
The Ecomuseum belongs to the CIE Network for promoting Craftwork and Ethnography.
