Bodega Quitapenas

Bodega Quitapenas winery has passed down the knowledge of wine-making from generation to generation. Over time it became popular with mule drivers who used to stop at this house on the road to Guadalmar, in Malaga, and it soon started to be known as the winery "that makes us forget our troubles" ["quitapenas"].

Thanks to its popularity, it increased its production capacity, storage space and wine ageing capacity. During this time, Bodegas Quitapenas also became a member of the Regulatory Council of the Málaga Designation of Origin area.

Nowadays the winery has adapted to new technologies and to the needs of modern markets, and this has led to the expansion to new foreign markets. In 2004 they moved to new facilities on 12 Carretera de Guadalmar. They felt nostalgic when they left such a traditional and historical place, but they have continued to lovingly produce exquisite and famous Málaga wines.
