Bodega El Alfolí
Located in the heart of the village of Lucena, the Bodega El Alfolí cellar is a small family business in love with the place and with the exciting mystery of wine. Excited about preserving every corner, because each one conserves a small piece of our history and our heart.
The grandfather could never have suspected, when he purchased this building during the decade of the 30s in the last century, that it would host so much history. He unknowingly contributed to the name it has today, “El Ajolín de la calle Molino”, to date Alfolí, a "place where oil, the grain and wine coexist". In 1777, it was an oil mill, and in the decade of the 40s a soap factory, with 2 proprietary brands. In 1950 Ajolín and, since 1982, a private cellar. Although it has undergone renovations over the years, to adapt to each activity, time has been unable to erase its essence.
During these years the winery, its charming corners and its small museum have gone unnoticed. Its use has been family-based, with few leisure activities, letting its wines sit in silence. Now we want to share with travellers who visit us the magic of our Alfolí, its soil, its cistern, its granary, ceilings, lights, taste, aroma.
Bodega El Alfolí offers guided tours of the cellar and Museum, with tastings of our 3 types of wines: sherry, amontillado and sweet. Furthermore, it offers experiences (tastings), workshops, guided tastings, hire for events, photography shoots, film locations and civil weddings.
The visit has an estimated duration of 30-45 minutes.
