Bodegas Mora Chacón de Lucena
Bodegas Mora Chacón de Lucena, as the name indicates, are located in the Cordoban town of Lucena, where they were founded in 1891 from a family winery dating back to before 1840, which was the property of José de Mora y Madroñero, lord of the Royal Order of Charles III and Isabella I.
Bodegas Mora Chacón de Lucena started its activity with José de Mora on Calle San Pedro in Lucena, in the old convent named Santo Domingo, which he also owned. His son, José María de Mora Chacón, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have continued the work.
Its wines, which are aged in old barrels made from American oak with care and patience, were so excellent that the winery won, on 13 July 1891, the title of wine supplier to the Royal House, a privilege obtained thanks to the Queen Regent, Maria Christina.
In 1982, the winery moved to its current location, where the founder's heirs continue to work. Its exquisite wines are a rich legacy passed down from parents to children, from generation to generation.
