Bodegas Herederos Torres Burgos
Bodegas Herederos Torres Burgos is located in the Cordoban town of Lucena. The origins of the winery date back to 1890, when Juan Mata Burgos, the owner of several wineries and vineyards in the Moriles Altos area (Lagar de San José and Lagar del Socorro), founded it.
For some time, the winery's wines, which already boasted a certain prestige, were sold to several Marco de Jerez wineries.
In the 50s, the Regulatory Council of the Montilla-Moriles Denomination of Origin was founded and a decision was made to create new facilities by tranferring all the aging barrels to Lucena.
Over time, these facilities expanded their capacity for aging and introduced new technologies that ensure the wines of Bodegas Torres Burgos are highly acclaimed. It has won several awards, including the Laurel de Oro for Best Montilla-Moriles Wine, and various Bacchus Prizes.
