History
Abundant roman artefacts discovered in the AREA indicate that the first known settlements date back to the period of Roman domination. It seems that these remains may have come from the city of Ilipa or Llipula Minor, which according to Antoninus was located in this part of the country.Following the Christian conquest the village was abandoned, until animal farms were established in the Duchy of Osuna and a village called Puebla de Corrales was founded.
At the end of the 18th century a Town Hall was built and in 1802 it was given the title of city by the king Charles IV..
