Taberna Lagartijo
The Taberna Museo Lagartijo is located on one of the most traditional streets in Linares, the Calle Ventanas, in a building from 1795 which respects the structure of the time with a patio and a well.
As you enter the Taberna Lagartijo you'll be surprised by the typical, bullfighting themed decoration, it is in fact a Museum with an extensive collection of photographs, unique lithographs, posters, the costumes of great bullfighters exhibited in glass cases, lances… which you can admire while you enjoy the restaurant's exquisite cuisine or sample the wide variety of tapas to accompany a glass of two of wine or beer which is much more than a tradition in Linares, < true benchmark of Andalusian cuisine.
The Museo de la Taberna Lagartijo is a bullfighting shrine to the memory of the “First Caliph of Cordoba”, and preserves all the memories of the fatal goring suffered by Manuel Rodríguez Sánchez “Manolete” on the evening of 28 August in 1947: documents, surgical instruments, photographs and other materials relating to the day Manolete was admitted to the Marqueses de Linares Hospital in Linares.
