Los Molinos Trail (Laroya) - PR A 366
The Los Molinos (Laroya) Trail- PR A 366, framed in the Sierra de los Filabres, starts in the Almeria district of Laroya, among vegetable gardens, native holm oaks and olive and almond terraces. It crosses the remains of the old mills and threshing floors, an essential part of the daily life in the area in past times, based on cereal farming, near to the Laroya river.
The first mill on the route is the Molino de Juan García, located above the Balsa del Común. From this point, we start the ascent, climbing up the whole mountain to continue descending to the river until we reach the Molino de Manuel Parra, the last windmill in operation and recently renovated for tourist use. A few metres downstream is the Molino del Tío Juan Parra. From here, the trail continues along the irrigation channel as far as the path that leads to the Reul and finishes at the starting point.
The trail coincides with a former section of the GR-143, which led from María to Almeria. The course has interesting natural viewpoints, where visitors can enjoy stunning views of the area.
