Parish of Our Lady of the Assumption, of medieval origin, throughout its history has undergone successive reconstructions that have modified its factory. After the damage caused in 1483 by the incursion of King Boabdil from Granada, its construction was rebuilt in the time of the Catholic Monarchs, then becoming a church with five naves. This work was concluded around 1530 with the construction of the Plateresque portal, the work of Hernán Ruiz I

Said portal presents Gothic characters in the powerful buttresses that frame it, although the Plateresque features stand out in it, giving rise to a composition decorated with pilasters and balusters. in the two bodies that make it up. All the ornamentation follows the canons of the first Spanish Renaissance, with grotesque that gives a sumptuous decorative aspect to the whole. In 1788 the building was rebuilt and the works were completed in 1799.

These reforms make up a neoclassical temple with baroque touches that preserves some elements prior to its rebuilding and that complete the historical artistic value of the property.

On May 27, 2003, it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, with the category of monument, through a decree published on June 16 of that same year in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía.
