Biography
José Luis Montón Amil was born in Barcelona in 1962. He is one of the guitarists who have started strongly in Catalonia. He does not only play flamenco, because he has studied many more styles In"jondo" (deep flamenco singing), has collaborated with José Antonio Galicia, Antonio Canales, Joaquín Grilo, Carmen Cortés, Mayte Martín or the Indio Gitano.
He won first prize in the Hospitalet guitar contest in 1986 and first prize in the Nimes Contest in 1991. As a composer, he has created pieces for shows by El Pipa and Manuel de Paula. He has recorded several very interesting albums.
