Ntra. Sra. de los Remedios Aceite Oro de Cánava

Nuestra Señora de los Remedios Aceite Oro de Cánava is located in the province of Jaén, in the town of Jimena. The Oil Mill, founded in 1976, combines traditional care in harvesting and selecting the olives with the strictest quality control, certified by the Regulatory Council of the Sierra Mágina Designation of Origin.

This has led to the award of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil “Oro de Cánava” gold prize.

It is no coincidence that already in the 15th century the renowned Marqués de Santillana was full of praise for the Jimena olive groves. For hundreds of years, the privilege of the water and the mild climate has enriched this land by making the olive trees flourish, which in turn have produced its greatest treasure: olive oil.

In Nuestra Señora de los Remedios Aceite Oro de Cánava the olive oil production process begins in the olive groves belonging to the members of this cooperative, where olives from the trees are separated from those on the ground, making it possible to select the fruit right from the start in order to produce oil which, because of its organoleptic properties, has been designated on a number of occasions as one of the best produced from the Picual olive variety.
