Yeguada de la Cartuja - Hierro del Bocado
The old Fuente del Suero meadow houses the most important Spanish Carthusian horse reserve in the world. Nowadays, the Yeguada de la Cartuja - Hierro del Bocado stud, which belongs to the State Heritage Department, is located near the Cartuja de Jerez Monastery- In the 15th century, this monastery was a cornerstone for breeding Jerez horses. The main aim of the stud farm is to preserve the gene pool of this lineage and generally contribute to improving the Spanish thoroughbred horse and in particular, the Carthusian horse.
The Yeguada de la Cartuja - Hierro del Bocado stud farm begins on Saturdays at 11:00am with a guided tour of the facilities and at 12:00pm there is an exhibition in the covered ring with wild animals, dressage, carriages, cobra of mares, etc.
