Have you ever wondered why the name "La Choza"? Perhaps, if you have stopped for lunch, dinner or a drink, you have not spent a few seconds to look carefully at the ceiling of this sale that undoubtedly has an amazing story behind it. Venta Gibalbín opened its doors back in the years 1975 - 1980, but as we know it today it was created in 1994 and it was then when it was renamed Venta Gibalbin "La Choza". Only the construction of the roof lasted three months and was the work of its founder, Antonio García Flores, who had the invaluable help of the family. These roofs were made with a solid structure based on wood and reeds covered with sheep and barron grass that is bred on the banks of the Guadalquivir River. Cristóbal, son of Antonio and current manager of the sale, assures that behind this roof there was a great work, which still continues today to ensure that it is preserved in perfect condition despite the weather and other factors (rain, wind, birds, etc.), that is why every 9 - 10 years maintenance work is carried out on this structure. And always with the sadness of knowing that at some point it will go down in history, since it is increasingly difficult to find the materials and labor it needs, which makes it an authentic relic worthy of admiration.
