The Jerez Circuit is the venue on those days when the first points of the season can be scored in what is one of the most outstanding events in the international motor sport calendar.
The town of Jerez and the high-speed racing circuit in the Cádiz region are a meeting point and an essential event for thousands of fans on two wheels who visit every year to experience one of the most spectacular and charismatic events in the motor sports calendar: the Moto GP Grand Prix of Spain.
For over a half-century Andalusia and the city of Jerez come together in this sport after the Jerez Circuit opened in 1985 and the layout received the Spanish Motorcycling Grand Prix for the first time in 1987. Since then, this race has been held uninterruptedly in the Cádiz region with a total of 30 editions. The event in Jerez marks the start of the European phase of the championship and is considered one of the most prestigious races on the international circuit, both for the number of people attending and for the media coverage, which led it to be chosen in 2009 by the Teams Association as the best Grand Prix of the season, an award that it also won in 1990.
