Bodegas Emilio Hidalgo
Bodegas Emilio Hidalgo is located in the province of Cadiz in the town of Jerez de la Frontera, where the wine cellar was built in the mid-19th century responding to the architectural canon commonly known as the “cathedral”, due to its similarity with Lower Andalusian religious buildings in the Mudéjar tradition.
The Bodegas Emilio Hidalgo plant is rectangular, built over very thick masonry walls filled with mortar and whitewashed for insulation from the sun and to preserve the humidity. At the same time they serve as a support for the high wooden-beamed ceilings covered with Moorish tiles and with a gabled roof. The large windows, "pipe clay" floors, a distribution with different ageing units and interior courtyards create an ideal cool, humid and ventilated environment for the producing and ageing the Jerez wines; undoubtedly a unique architectural and wine culture heritage.
