Javier Latorre
Full name
Place of birth
Javier Latorre was born in Valencia in 1963 and started out as a dancer in Spain´s National Ballet. However soon he moved to Córdoba to turn into a flamenco dancer, and above all one of the best choreographers that flamenco has ever had. Not surprisingly in the capital of the mosque - Córdoba - he received his training in Ziryab Danzas company, with which he did Hijas del alba. However his great jump was in 1989, when the jury of Cordoba´s National Competition awarded him with the Paco Laberinto Award for 'Bulerías´, Juana la Macarrona Award for 'Alegrías´ and the Antonio Award for being the most complete dancer, being the only person to have received this last award. Later on he has starred in productions such as Ambivalencias, Pura intención or Rinconete y Cortadillo, as well as being the choreographer for nearly all the dancers of the moment.
