Jamilena
This little village belongs to the Martos district and is situated to the west of the capital, at the foot of the Sierra Sur Mountains, in a land of infinite olive groves, which are the most distinctive feature of its landscape.
History
Legend has it that Viriato fought against the Roman Consul Serviliano in the surrounding mountains.During Roman times it was a part of the Colonia Augusta Gémina Tuccitana.
After the Christian conquest, it belonged to the Order of Calatrava.
In 1526, King Carlos V passed through the village and had the parish church built.
