Nuevo Estadio de La Victoria
The Nuevo La Victoria stadium, which is owned by the council, was opened in 2001 and is situated on the outskirts of the city of Jaén, on the road to Granada. It is very accessible and has a large car park, good facilities and an excellent design. An interesting fact about this stadium is that it has an artificial turf field below the natural grass field, which you get to from the changing rooms. It is used for players to train.
The first time ever that the stadium was full was in the 2008-2009 season, when the team was playing for its promotion to Second Division. Real Jaén played against S.D. Ponferradina, in front of 12,500 spectators. Because of the great excitement in the city and all over the province during the decisive match between Real Jaén and Villarreal B, the club had to build additional seating, reaching 20,000 spectators – the largest audience ever at a football match in the history of the province of Jaén.
