Puerta del Ángel
The Puerta del Ángel was built in 1646 and is the only surviving gate of the old walled enclosure. It remains adjacent to the convent of the Discalced Franciscans or Las Bernardas and leads to the Parque de la Alameda gardens laid during the Renaissance period.
The gate is crowned by an urn with a statue of Saint Michael (which explains the name "Angel Gate").
