Easter Week in Iznajar

Easter week in Iznájar is remarkable for its colour and the presence of the townsfolk who appear dressed in period costume and play the roles of Jews, Pilates, Romans and the apostles.

These characters feature in all the processions, together with the members of the different brotherhoods. These processions represent episodes from the Passion of Christ. And on Easter Saturday "El Paso" takes place, a living representation of the passion and death of Jesus, in the Town Hall's all-purpose hall.
