Museo y Centro de Interpretación del Agua

Located on the outskirts of the town of Istán, close to the Tajo Banderas and Herrizas Lookout Points, the location of the Water Museum and Visitor Centre enable you to observe the Verde River valley, the Reservoir of La Conception and the Sierras Real y Cano mountains. It also has beautiful panoramic views of the town of Istán.

It is dedicated to interpreting the water culture, exhibiting information on the importance of water for life and human development. The contents include such topics as the origin of the Water; the Natural Cycle and the Integrated Cycle of the Water; Water and Wellness; Uses of Water in Al-Andalus; The Moorish Irrigation Channels in Istán; the Reservoir of La Concepción; and the ACOSOL Company which distributes the Water of the Costa del Sol.

The Museum has a Visitor Reception Centre, which has exhibition area where the contents are exhibited, touch screens for visitors looking for more information and audio-guides with the dialogues translated into English. There is an area adapted for the projection of videos.
