El Tejao
In Isla Mayor, in the surroundings of Doñana, Restaurante El Tejao is set in a unique landscape: the marshes of the Guadalquivir, at the heart of the "Rice Route".
From its beginnings around the year 1995, El Tejao has stuck to its goal of rescuing, maintaining and projecting the gastronomic culture of the marshes to all areas. Its cuisine is based on products from the marshes and on tradition.
The ingredients their dishes are made with come from the wild fauna and flora of the marshes, to which a good dose of enthusiasm-professionalism-imagination is added without in the least betraying the expertise passed down from other generations. The result–its exceptional menu: rice with duck, juicy rice with crayfish tails, black rice, fried shrimp with peppers, char-grilled crabs, scrambled eggs with crayfish tails, etc.
