Piedra del Letrero

If you like nature and history in equal measure, you really should not miss the opportunity to visit the Piedra del Letrero, a rocky shelter also known as "Los Letreros de los Mártires" where, protected by a fence, you will find the only cave paintings in the whole of the High Plateau. They are sketches drawn in dark red and with flat colours and represent the human figure, the stars and certain animals such as fish and what are possible bovines. The latter are the most unique drawings in the area, as they look like combs. They are easily accessible as they are signposted and next to the road that runs from Huéscar to the Chapel of Las Santas.
