The Cordero Segureño Visitor Centre (CICOS) is located in the church of San Francisco in Huéscar, a building adjacent to the convent of the same name and with the essential objective of promoting the quality of Cordero Segureño (Segureño lamb), that is listed under the category of Protected Geographical Indication
The exhibition starts by defining the breed and how it differs from other breeds. Then there is an explanation of the history of stockbreeding and how it has affected our area. This is followed by details of the approach to the breeding system and those who play the most direct role: the shepherds. There is also an area highlighting the quality of the product and its primary use: gastronomy. The presentation finishes with a speech on the Protected Geographical Indication and its function as the supervisor and guarantor that the values that have been detailed during the speech remain in force.
During a visit to the Cordero Segureño Interpretation Centre, you will also learn about the original function of the building as the church of the Convent of San Francisco, since the original architecture has been recovered.

The Visitor Centre is open for visits on Fridays and Saturdays from 6pm to 7pm and a visit can also be arranged through the Tourist Office.
